Matai Park

We were very pleased to be involved in this significant Faisandier Group project in the heart of Wainuiomata, directly opposite the newly upgraded Countdown/Woolworths supermarket. The project, known as Matai Park, comprises 95 residential and mixed use units, car-parking, and comprehensive landscaping. Streetscape improvements including additional public parking and stormwater treatment are also features of the development, along with some much-needed upgrades to Hugh Sinclair Park which included the provision of additional pathways, park furniture, and planting.

Cuttriss were involved in this project from the outset, providing advice on land ownership options and civil engineering matters at the concept stage, and carrying out consultation with Hutt City Council officers and the Wainuiomata Bush Fire Service who are a neighbour to Matai Park. Cuttriss prepared a comprehensive scheme plan set to accompany the resource consent application, and after the resource consent had issued, prepared detailed civil engineering plans, obtained construction approval and observed the civil works to ensure the appropriate standards and resource consent conditions were met. Cuttriss’ surveyors provided a full range of land surveying services including set-out, as-builting, and preparation of official subdivision plans and documents to facilitate the issue of titles.

Matai Park, along with the Countdown/Woolworths redevelopment have together rejuvenated the heart of Wainuiomata’s CBD, and have contributed to a significant degree in making it a place where people will want to come to live, do business, and to enjoy the upgraded recreational facilities. We at Cuttriss are very grateful to have had the opportunity to play our part in ensuring the success of this project, and to enhance the amenities available to the community within Wainuiomata.
