Chatham Island Surveying

Cuttriss has been fortunate to have worked with Fulton Hogan over several years to assist with resource allocation and infrastructure works on the Chatham Islands, otherwise known as Rēkohu, or Wharekauri. Each trip is unique, and it is great to provide our team with the opportunity to experience working in this very special part of our country.

Our mahi typically involves drone surveys of quarries for volumetric calculations, as well as surveys for infrastructure assessments and also land transfers. The island has limited natural resources, so the quarries are carefully managed to ensure the material can be put to good use. These trips can be logistically challenging and require considerable forward planning to ensure success.

The Chatham Islanders are a special group of people. Cuttriss is happy to play a small part in the development of their community and our team have given back through organised beach clean ups, as well as ensuring the local kai moana populations are kept in check.
