Planners

Full-time, Kapiti or Lower Hutt

We are seeking a full or part time Planner / Senior Planner preferably with resource consent and plan making experience to join our team in our Lower Hutt or Kāpiti Coast office.

Ideally, you’d have:

You will be working on a diverse range projects including large and small land development, community and infrastructure projects that contribute towards creating and shaping well-functioning urban environments and climate resilient properties. There is the opportunity to contribute positively towards the growth of our local communities by providing urban design advice, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, plan making and submissions, managing the resource consenting process from preparation of applications to decision as well as opportunities to process resource consents.

Ideal applicants will:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a planning role or 5 years for a senior planner
  • Hold a planning, resource management, geography, environmental or urban design-related degree
  • Be a member of NZPI (or be eligible to apply)
  • Have experience with the Resource Management Act 1991
  • Have good written and oral communication skills
  • Think creativity and innovatively to seek solutions and outcomes
  • Produce and deliver work of a high standard on time and to budget
  • Have a positive attitude with a drive to succeed
  • Be open to exploring the possibilities of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution.
